Get to Know Mrs. Blalock

I graduated from Southaven High School and the University of Mississippi. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.   This is my thirteenth year to teach Kindergarten at Hope Sullivan. Prior to teaching here at HSES, I taught 4K for nine years.

Before that, I taught first grade, second grade, and fourth grade in the state of Louisiana.

I have been married for thirty-eight years and have one wonderful son and a beautiful daughter-in-law.  My family is very important to me and we enjoy spending time together. My family and I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, horseback riding, hiking trails, and riding motorcycles (I only ride on the back!). We also do quite a bit of traveling to many different places. I enjoy reading, cooking, and watching classic old movies.

As an educator, keeping your child safe and secure is of utmost importance to me. I understand that each child comes to me at different levels. I will meet my students at their individual learning levels and work hard to grow these levels. This will be done through a combination of whole group and individualized small group instruction. I believe that parents and teachers are partners in education, and I look forward to working with you and your child this year. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for the privilege of teaching your child!
